Digital agency Digitalux tasked us with running a campaign for their own food box review brand, Food Box HQ. They wanted us to create a food-related campaign that spread awareness of their service and boost their SEO. We came up with catchy campaign that tapped into one of the biggest food trends in the past couple of years: veganism. We polled 3,000 single people around the country, asking one central question: ‘Would you date a vegan?’ The results were surprising, (albeit a little concerning!); we found that a quarter of Americans would not date a herbivore. The poll also found that vegans appear to be a far more tolerant group of people, as 90% of them said they would be happy to date a carnivore. We illustrated the findings with a highly visual interactive infographic (made up to look like a food box), which you can see below. The campaign was very successful – the press coverage went national and was picked up by the likes of the LA Times, Baltimore Sun and food-type sites such as the Daily Meal. The LA Times said they ‘love it’ and the Detroit News described our campaign as ‘a great approach’ – they even included it on their site as ‘Press Release of the Week’! These sites have very high DAs (96) which meant that Food Box HQ climbed up the search engine rankings. We have included some of the coverage below – please click on a publication logo to see the story.
