Running Public Relations Campaigns in Texas
The Lone Star state, Texas, is the second largest state (after Alaska) by land, and boasts the second largest state population (after California) with 28.9 million residents. To put it into perspective, Texas is 10% larger than the whole of France and twice the size of Germany – land so vast leads to a real diversity of culture. The city of Houston, whilst not the capital of Texas, has been described as the most diverse major metropolitan area in the U.S. Cherry Digital has run many Texas-specific public relations campaigns – we know the state well and its nuances. In fact, our study in 2019, based on 4 years of data found that the optimum day and time to send a press release in Texas is 10.16am or 2.34pm on a Tuesday.
Hugely successful across the whole of America, Cherry Digital put together an online SEO boosting campaign for pet supplies website InnovetPet. The story asked Americans if they would rather become parents or own a pet: the survey found that almost a quarter of young couples in Texas would prefer to have pets over becoming parents. State publications really loved the campaign and it featured in Texan publications such as cbs Austin, Fox San Antonio, abc 7 Amarillo, Spot On Texas and Animals Being Cute.
A campaign that the team at Cherry Digital ran for online mattress review site Mattress Clarity compared the percentage of Americans who wanted a sleep divorce from their partner (that is, sleeping in a separate bed). When the results came in it was found that 36% of Texan couples wanted a sleep divorce! This story was accompanied by an interactive infographic map of the US, which was the perfect tool to gain those valuable SEO backlinks. The campaign featured on Texan publications such as KENS 5.
Cherry Digital also created a campaign for Mattress Clarity that asked American couples how long the honeymoon period lasts on average. To help boost the backlinks to the clients website, the team put together an interactive map of the U.S. so that users could compare state results. The campaign was highly successful nationally, and featured in Austin 360.
We ran an extremely successful local campaign for online security review website SecurityBaron.com, which showed the safest cities in each state. Not only did this story do exceptionally well across the whole of the U.S. but it was also picked up by multiple local publications in each state. In Texas the story was shared by publications such as Trophy Club, Local News Only, Herald Banner, Royse City Herald Banner, Bunker Hill TX, FOX 7 Austin, KFOX 95, Lufkin Daily News, Athens Review and Houston Press.
